Kids Fest Shellharbour
Celebrating Shellharbour’s Children

A project of Communities for Children Shellharbour funded by the Australian Government – Stronger Families and Communities Strategy.
Kids Fest Shellharbour is a weeklong children’s celebration to be held in Albion Park and Shellharbour Village located in Shellharbour City on the South Coast of NSW. It will involve businesses and community services/agencies hosting and supporting a range of activities during the Festival to promote the importance of children 0 – 5 years and their families to our city.
In 2008 the Festival will be situated in the Albion Park CBD and Shellharbour Village CBD and rolled out to other sites in Shellharbour City in following years.
How will the Festival work?
Kids Fest Shellharbour is a weeklong event with a focus on 0 – 5 year olds and their parents, carers and families.
Parents, Carers, Grandparents, Families and Friends of Children (target age is 0 – 5 years) will be invited to register for a free Festival Passport and Map for each child in their care. The passport and map will list all activities, promotions and entertainment on offer in participating Kids Fest businesses and community space. Each map will be an adventure trail with children collecting stamps from participating businesses, agencies and entertainment events.
A series of exciting children’s concerts and interactive workshops will be held in both Albion Park and Shellharbour Village.
Businesses and community services/agencies are invited to become involved by providing family friendly activities, entertainment, support or sponsorship throughout the week long event. Their involvement will provide a focus during the festival of their own specific business and activities that will be tailored for our target group.
Participating businesses and community organisations will be included in Kids Fest promotions, programs and receive a Kids Fest Shellharbour participation promotional pack.
