An outstanding success, The 2008 Outdoor Camp Kitchen Challenge built on last years base and doubled the number of competitors and attendees.  All had a great time.  Some $6500.00 was distributed amoungst the local community, with the Albion Park Country Womans Assocaition, the Albion Park Baptist Church, The Albion Park Rural Fire Service and the South Coast Country Music Association all benefiting.
Local music performers also benefited. A big thank you to our sponsors, Ravensthorpe, Albion Park Village Meats, Redhead Bar B Que Products, Albion Park Chemist  and Coopers Beer.

Take the Cooking Challenge
Reserve a kitchen site for you and your friends, family or organisation.  Cook up a storm and present it to the judges.  Judging starts at 12 noon.

Very generous sites are available for businesses to promote their products.  The Albion Park Showground is a great setting for showing off your products large and small.

Bring along a picnic rug and enjoy a great family day in Albion Park.  There will be plenty of things to do.

BUSH COOKING SCHOOL CAMPUS

This project will be a ‘not for profit’ activity of the Albion Park Chamber of Commerce and it will provide opportunities for interested individuals and families to learn the traditional art of outdoor camp cooking.  

Cooks will instruct on Camp Ovens, hot pots, griddles, skillets and other bush cooking methods.   

The Bush Cooking School Campus is located in the large picnic grounds of the Illawarra Light Rail Museum.   Entry is free and onlookers are welcome.   There are BBQ sites in the immediate area. If guests wish to BYO their own meals and refreshments they are more than welcome.

Bush Cooking Participants are asked to book in early as the School will be providing the ingredients for the recipes of the day.   The cost per individual is $15, families $20, and this will include tuition, hand on experience and the reward of a hearty meal.
