    Albion Park Traffic Plan

Pauline has just spoken to Luke Preston at Shellharbour Council and he has given her the following information.

The Traffic Plan is part of the Section 94 Review currently being undertaken. The original plan was to have a working party but they have now decided to make it an in-house study. They will be looking at Tripoli Way Bypass, F6 Connection and the Albion Park West Collector (Ashburton) with the extension to Tullimbah.

APCC is very welcome to put forward any comments.  There is nothing that is available to look at currently. The plans will be displayed for public comment late November to early December.  These will be put on display at the Library.

Megan would like to see the money that was earmarked for Tripoli Way Bypass (should it not go ahead) be used for another project within Albion Park and an alternate plan needs to be put in place.

APCC would like to invite a member of the Albion Park Traffic Working Party to the Chamber  AGM Meeting as the plans are put on display.

    2006 Albion Park Community Calendar

Pauline has been collecting information for this.  Neil has forwarded the layout and information. Thanks Neil

I have contacted Peter at DECS SERVICES Unanderra re: printing costs for the calendar.  Peter printed our last calendar.  The cost for 2000 calendars is $2687.00 incl GST and for 3000 $3513.00 incl GST.  This is for a 4 colour gloss front with 2 colour A4 tearoff calendar pages (same as last time).

Artwork will need to be with Peter by the end of October and printing will take 2 - 3 weeks.
I phoned Dee Kramer re: a photo for the top of the calendar.  Dee said he would gladly donate the photo in exchange for advertising.  We can select a photo from his current range or he did suggest there might be time for a photo to be taken.  His website with photos to view is
    www.deekramer.com.au.

I have left a message with an advertising distribution business for a calendar delivery quote.  This is also a great opportunity for a local organisation like the Scouts to earn some extra fundraising money.

To print 3000 calendars ($1.17 per calendar), these can be easily distributed in AP, we would need to put the cost of the ads up from $150 for the top of the calendar and $80 for a month (last years cost).

Megan has mentioned that there were Community Organisations that would have liked to advertise, but missed out eg. Lions Club, Rotary etc.

Paul Jones has offered to quote for the Calendar and distribution.

There are 7500 houses in AP APR (2527 postcode) not including businesses.

Neil and Pauline will coordinate the calendar.

    Jo-Ellen

Jo-Ellen  suggested that we put $20,000 to a fixed term deposit for 30 day fixed term deposit for a higher rate of interest.

    MOVED:  Jo Ellen                            SECONDED:            Megan

    That the motion be accepted

    Main Street Coordinator

Paul has sent evidence of payment to Jenny Rand to Louise Conibear.

All conditions for the grant have been met and Neil is awaiting notification of payment.

Advertisement, media release and job description are all organised.

Advertisement is to have a basic outline of job description with further information to be available from APCC website and Albion Park Post Office.  Closing date for applications is to be the end of September.

    MOVED:  Megan                                    SECONDED:            Neil

    Megan

Illawarra Business Awards.  New categories include Best Home Based Business, Best Young Business Person of the Year.  Megan will forward information or the information is available on the Illawarra Business Website.  She would like to encourage nominations from regional businesses.

Paul Jones introduced himself. His businesses based at APR are Your Finance Broker & SJ Promotions Advertising (publishes The Albion Park Flyer) which produces promotions products eg. Coffee cups, caps etc. He thanked Neil Harris for his assistance in launching the Albion Park Flyer.

Paul Jones enquired about APCC’s involvement in BizFest.  BizFest is a business expo that is being organised by State and Regional Development. APCC is not looking at involvement at this stage and have not currently received any information about BizFest.

Paul suggested that we put a link on www.shellharbourcity.com .

    Neil Harris

Barnardos have been successful in their bid for funding for Childrens Services in postcodes 2527 and 2528.  There will be a 3 month study for early intervention requirements and childrens services for children 0 – 5 and their families.  Neil thanked APCC for their support in the funding process.  APCC will be invited to be involved local committees.

Spring Festival is being organised by APNA Committee and TAFE students.  Jo-Ellen suggested that local businesses get involved in the Spring Festival and organise activities for children.
